Not all speaker types are designed to create the same sound. I have a small space So I purchased the PDR-8 along with the Paradigm Cinema bookshelf speakers and middle speaker. The sound is better then the old larger JVC speaker I had. The first time I turned on the receiver the PDR-8 has such rich base I could not believe the sound.
You don't want to give your bookshelf speakers more sound than they can handle, or to try powering huge tower speakers with a weak amplifier. Find out how many watts your receiver or amplifier puts out and look for speakers with an appropriate power rating, the PDR-8 meets these requirements.
Built-in Subwoofer
Bass is very important when it comes to speakers, and subwoofers are a way to get that bass without taking up lots of space. A built-in subwoofer will save you the trouble of having to buy a separate subwoofer speaker.
