Pros: Tight, controlled Bass, clarity is amazing!
Cons: May be a bit too much for those who like their Home theatre Quiet ;P
The Bottom Line: If you want an amazing sounding sub, with the full range needed for good Home Theatres, look to Velodyne. Anyone who knows HT knows that Velodyne are among the best.

| booyotch's Full Review: Velodyne CT-120 Subwoofer Speaker |
When it was time for me to upgrade to a serious Home Theatre, I had heard from friends to demo the Velodyne series.
I took their advice, and went to try to find some, which I did after a few days. A quick note on demo-ing these subs, and any subs/speakers for that matter: See how the store is hooking them up. When you are trying to get a good sense of how a sub handles, make sure they are using the direct sub in hook-up found on all good subs. If you try to listen to one that is being used as a pass through for the left & right speakers, you'll be missing the most important part.
When you have a Dolby Digital/DTS reciever, there is a direct sub out on the back. This is used to send ONLY the .1 LFE channel to the sub. LFE is the Low frequency Effects channel encoded on digital durround DVD's (it's the .1 in 5.1 and 6.1 surround) If it's being used as a pass-through the sub it trying to pull the bass out of the signal from the left/right channel. If they are demo-ing it this way, ask if they can use the direct in instead.
Anyway, I fell in love with it, and took it home.
REVIEW: This is the crowning pride of my Home Theatre. The amount of air this sub moves is mind-boggling. When watching "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN", the concussive effects of bomb blasts hits you with the concussive force you feel in theatres. Music quality is tightly controlled, and will roll with the clarity needed for classical movie scores. The footprint of this sub is more than managable. This sub will really pound, which is what you want in your action movies, but will handle subtile, soft bass for the ambient sounds.
The features are easy to understand, but be sure you have the settings on your reciever set to maximize the sound on your sub... Most of the problems that occur are related to improper settings on the reciever.
With a little tweaking of room position, and dB settings on your reciever, you'll be ready to make your friends SOOOO jealous!
Velodyne upholds the tradition of making the best.
