I have had this product for over a year now and have not had any of the problems that have been told about in the other entries. I own over 100 DVD's and have NEVER had one lock up or not play. I rent DVD's from the local video stores and also have NEVER had any problems. The DVD has crystal clear picture and great DTS sound when run through a DTS decoder. I bought a Sony for my parents and the JVC is the better buy. Who knows, maybe I have just been lucky:) The only problem that I see is the remote. Sometimes the button is hard to get right on what you want to choose, and you will end up playing the wrong option, but this is nothing major.
