Pros: Simple to use, great quality, good price
Cons: Relies on the remote too much
The Bottom Line: Like I said before, if you only have $200 to spend get this DVD player. Got a little more moolah? Get a toshiba or sony.

| jimblakey's Full Review: Philips DVD815AT DVD Player |
Well I have had this DVD player since last Christmas. Overall I am very happy with it and I think that in general Philips has good quality products. It has never had any problems reading DVD's, there have been no glitches and it plays CD's (as do most DVD players) which is pretty cool too. The only problem I have noticed with this dvd is that if you have lost the remote quite a few movies won't play. There is a play button on the unit itself but rarely can it be used, the device always asks for a remote input (which drives me nuts). Overall though i would say that I am quite happy with the unit. I would recommend it to people who are looking for a fairly good unit at a mid-range price. If you have $300 to spend go with a toshiba or sony, but if you have $200 or under get the Philips, it's a good value for your dollar.
Thanks for reading, hope it helped!
