I'm telling you right now, Once you set your eyes on the picture and sound quality of a DVD player, you'll never go back to VHS ever again.
We bought a DVD player for my parents for Christmas and I'm telling you right now that the picture quality is superior to anything. Basically you're watching exactly what everyone saw in the theaters with just that same quality.
One more thing. WIDESCREEN. A lot of people hate this for some reason because of the black areas above and below the screen. But they must not know much because actually with WIDESCREEN or LETTERBOX FORMAT, they are seeing more the the picture than regular VHS. So they see it all and hear it all with MULTIPLE sound capabilities.
NOT only do they get to see the movie the way it was meant to be seen, but they get extras. YES, extras. Almost every DVD movie contains a trailer, a slideshow, and stills from the movie. Some even give history about the actors and possibly a MAKING OF THE FILM if you're lucky. At prices nowaday's, you have no reason to not purchase one. PLEASE do yourself a favor and buy one, if not just test drive one to see that I'm right!
