Up until now Pioneer as been turning out some questionable electronics. Their components were good but there was always that little bit more that should have been done to make a component great. Well with the company's 50th anniversery came a logo change and from what I have seen in the past year this IS and new and BETTER Pioneer.
I sell Audio and Home Theater products for a living and this is one DVD player I have been recommending for the past six months over and over again. Why? This DVD player is one of the most durable players I have come across. We use it to demo one our Runco projectors and it has not let us down, ever. It has been playing movies day in and day out for five months; never mistracking and any of the other errors that have become common on most low end DVD players. The sound it produces as a CD player rivals many higher end CD player, something that most low end DVD players cannot do. The picture quality is excellent and it plays DVD that have been abused like they were new. The only problem I have with this player is only the major controls are on the face of the unit. For anything other that basic functions and you need to grab the remote.
If you are in the market for a DVD player that will hold up down the road, and produces and great picture as well as sound than pick this bad boy up. You won't regret it. Should be a five but but nothing is perfect.
