I bought this player after my previous CDL-79 Elite LD player was struck by lightning and destroyed. Sadly, the Elite DVL-91 is not made anymore. However, the DVL-919 is nearly as good as my old Elite model in most respects. There are more features and options for video and audio output. The video quality isn't quite as good as my old player however. I have to say overall, kudos to Pioneer for continuing to support and improve the LD market since all others have abandoned it!
