Pros: When it works, the quality is superb!
Cons: Try getting one of these babies repaired! What a nightmare!!
The Bottom Line: I expect quality and durability when I spend nearly $2,000 on a piece of equipment like this. Individual components would cost $500. Think about the customer Service!

You can read all of the good things about the Pioneer DVL-91 in the other reviews. And they are all true! The video is blindingly brilliant. The audio is crisp and true.
But when the DVD portion of my machine stopped working a few months after the warranty expired, I was tossed into a bureaucratic nightmare!
First I called the Pioneer customer service department. After several tries and some long waits, I was basically told that there was nothing Pioneer was willing to do other than open a file on the machine and it's troubles. I was told to take the machine to a Pioneer-authorized service center, which I did.
The service center was friendly and seemed to be pretty well-trained, but they spent months trying to figure out what was wrong. Six months, in fact. First they replaced the laser, but when they tried it, the problem persisted. Then they replaced a card, but that didn't help either. They tried getting Pioneer involved, but that didn't help, either.
Finally the service center called and said, "come get your machine, we can't fix it. We spent too many hours and can't figure pout what's wrong, we give up."
I went back to Pioneer to ask for help. I'm still waiting for Pioneer to decide what (if anything)to do.
I currently have a very bulky paperweight. What else can I call it? The centerpiece of this combo machine is totally non-functional and it sits in my living room taking up space.
I'm one unhappy customer!
