Expensive but worth it, the LAST laser disc player you will ever buy, and if you have as many laserdiscs as I do, its well worth the investment. Many of the moving components and control circuitry is shared between the Elite DVL-91, and the regular Pioneer DVL-919, but the Elite has much better build quality...copper chassis, better video and audio circuits and almost DOUBLE the Price. DVD picture is excellent, Sound is excellent. DTS output, AC3-RF Dolby Digital output.Pioneer has discontinued the regular DVl-919, so the Elite machine may be your last chance to get a really great Laser Disc player. the bonus DVD player dont hurt either. Remember Elite products are not authorized to be sold online, so be careful, check Pioneers website for authorized dealers, you will find that the authorized online dealers do not carry Elite products.
