I have been looking around recently for a new gadget to tinker around with at my house when I get bored. I have researched quite a bit on all the DVD players out on the market right now. With all the choices out there I am pretty sure with my testing and research that the DVP-S330 is by far the best on the market for its price.
I never really buy sony stuff unless I have to because the brand name Sony was never that appealing to me. With the past products that I bought bought from Sony they all fell short by my standards.
DVD players are really pricey right now cause it is a rather new thing and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. The sony DVD player is alittle more pricey than the competition because of the name you pay alittle more you can go with a similar product and you may pay about $50 less. But if you choose to buy something differnt you should defiantly research the product to ensure the quality.
The DVP-S300 has a good share of buttons and options to make it fun toy and it is easy to use. The player has optical digital input as well as coaxial digital input. The two AV outputs as well as the S-video connection are a must for a great DVD player. I didn't see any composite video outputs on this particular machine which is a loss it also lacks on the decoder. You may want to get a receiver that has a decoder on it so you have that feature.
The image quality is great I didn't see any Jackie Chan lip sync errors. The colors are truly vivid and bright and the audio sound is good if you have a good sound system to go with your DVD Player. The DVD player will let you play regular CD's but I can't play any of my recorded CD's on it that was disappointing.
Overall the product is a great addition to my theater system. It's a little pricey but the Sony name to most people is a reliable name. The remote is big and hard to loose in-between the couch cousions. It is also can doubble as a TV remote. Have fun with whatever DVD you choose but I suggest watching "Blue Streak" on it.
