| sfommelt's Full Review: Sony DVP-S530D DVD Player |
After much consideration, I decided to take the plunge into the DVD world and purchased the Sony 530. I initially considered the Sony 330, mainly because of its lower price. I decided the the minimal cost increase would be worth it in the long run. The 530 includes features like a built in Dolby Decoder, component video out and DSP. These features are simply extras that make the video and sound quality a little better. If you don't have a digital capable receiver, and don't plan on purchasing one, you should probably consider the 330 instead.
The quality of this item has been incredible. I have never had a problem with resolution or lip synching since my purchase. All features of even the most intensive DVDs perform flawlessly. The picture quality is absolutely incredible, as is the sound quality when used with a digital capable receiver.
If you are looking for a DVD player and you are just a bit of a videophile, the this is the one for you. If you are one of those "super high tech" folks, theres probably not enough extras here for you. Also, if you simply want to watch DVDs, and could care less about Dolby 5.1, component out, or other advanced features, buy the 330.
