I recently bought the Toshiba SD2109 DVD player for my dad -- which of course means, I use it all the time. And for the price, it's an excellent one!
Of course there's more expensive ones with 1,000 features, but when it comes down to it, I wanted (for my dad) a good DVD player, with the basic functions & features, which will be easy to use and operate -- plus work with our TV. And the winner came out to be the Toshiba SD2109.
I've recently seen it advertised for as low as $199 now -- and you can't beat it. It plays the DVD movies picture perfect -- and is simple enough for parents (and grandparents) to operate.
It only took a few minutes to hook it up to our TV, and with a flick of a switch, we were watching the latest movies in super quality and sound. I don't know why an average person would spend triple that amount on a super duper DVD player with a million features, when a normal person only wants to watch them. (It's the same as a VCR -- why pay hundreds more when all you care about is that Play button).
It makes a great picture quality, that beats the standard VHS movies, not to mention has lots of little features that will make you smile for hours.
If you're looking for a good DVD player that's not going to bust your wallet, but has enough bells & whistles to last, then take a look at the Toshiba SD2109. You can't beat the price for the quality.
