I bought this product because of its ability to be produce Dolby surround sound with compatible videos or television shows. I have never owned any sort of surround sound systems. After owning this system, I feel I could have sacrificed the two rear surround sound speakers and possibly the Dolby Pro Logic itself because the difference from regular stereo audio and Dolby are hardly recognizable to myself. To me, the rear speakers seem useless. Only a tiny amount of sound comes from them even when the video or program is in Dolby surround form. These are my only concerns with this system, other than this, the system sounds terrific and fills the room with clear audio. I also like the "eco-mode" feature which allows the system to dim the panel lights when they are not being used. This feature cuts down the energy usage of the system. Another plus this Aiwa system offers is its simple set up procedures. Every input was marked clearly.
