| damiendad's Full Review: Aiwa XR-MS3 Shelf System |
This powerful micro system packs outstanding sound with a stylish classy look. I have it hooked up to my DVD player and it is the next best thing to a full home theater system.
It has a tuner with 24 presets, top loading tape deck, very cool looking side loading CD player and an auxillary jack for a DVD player, VCR, or video game system. It has 4 preset equalizer settings. One for jazz, pop, rock and classic. I personally keep mine set on jazz. I feel it has the deepest sound. There is also a seperate bass setting called T-Bass. For a tiny little system, you can feel the bass pumping out of the speakers. The Q-Surround setting is if you want to use it as a home theater system. It helps to pick up some of the more obscure sounds like a bird tweeting.
The only downfall if you want to call it that, is the size of the remote control. It is very large and a little difficult to use. I decided to get a universal remote and was able to program it to operate the Aiwa system. That solved that problem.
The retail price is $299, however I was able to find it ebay for $215. This is a fantastic system for the price, and a great alternative to a home theater system.
