dawnphillips's Full Review: Bose Lifestyle 30 Theater System
So accustomed to having our Bose system now, we sometimes forget about having it, even though it was a major purchase. Summer is a very busy time for us, and we don't watch alot of television. Enter my mom.
She and my dad offered to watch the kids one evening so my husband and I could test-drive a motorcycle. When we got home, all the furniture in the family room was scooted out into the middle of the floor (except the entertainment center which is 800 pounds) and my mom is standing with my little dustbuster looking like a soldier ready to fight.
"Sssshhhhhh, I think they're behind the television, but we can't move the thing" she cautioned. WHAT is behind the television? I asked. CRICKETS! And there must be a whole pack behind there if there's one!
So we're back there shining a flashlight looking for the pests when all of a sudden my husband turns off the tv. Silence. No chirps. One, two, three minutes pass. Still no sound. Mom is convinced they're smarter than we are.
Husband turns tv back on (Wild Discovery) and this time it's a pack of thundering elephants, sounding as though they're coming from behind us. We started laughing because we then knew it was the Bose surround sound doing the damage, not crickets.
Mom grabbed her purse and the car keys and marched out to the car, still not sure of what she'd just witnessed.
Although the Bose 30 is pricey ($2700) it's an investment to be proud of and one that should last as long as you want it to. I can't imagine anything that could be made to sound any better or to be more innovative.
The tiny (4 1/2") box speakers are mounted from the ceiling in various places around the room, powered by the base unit and subwoofer. A radio and 6-disc CD player is included with the package. Our speakers are white, to match our walls, but they also come in matte black.
Nothing, NOTHING, can compare to this system. It is easier than you'd expect to hook up. Everything is explained. It is also easy to operate. Our favorite movie to watch and "listen to" is "TWISTER". People who hear this can't believe the sound.
Bose is one of the experts in home theater systems and this system is proof of that. Everytime we watch tv, a movie or listen to music, we're reminded that we made a "sound investment" that will bring us many years of pleasure.
