Overall, the sound produced my this sound system has nothing to offer. I couldn't say enough bad things about the lackluster, half-absent sound produced by the Lifestyle 50, so I won't start. Considering the cost, I think Bose is selling this system for laughs. If the system cost $600 I could concieve of someone buying it for a nice set of computer speakers, but only if they had $600 to waste.

Unless you can't hear and have $3500 that you can only spend on a Bose Lifestyle 50 please please don't buy this thing.

epinions just told me I needed more words here, so I'll write more. The sound from the Lifestyle 50 was unable to satisfactorialy reproduce a substantial portion of the sound spectrum on several cds. I had to go listen to them in another player, just to make sure the parts I thought were supposed to be there weren't hallucinations in the first place. Aphex Twin's girl boy song was missing the entire bass line, DJ Shadows private press was hollow and harsh, Bach's fugues sounded like I had holes in my ear drums. On the whole, the sound made my ears bleed.
