| stormchld's Full Review: Aiwa XR-H330MD Shelf System |
We purchased the Aiwa surround system for a two-fold reason. We all love music and my husband is a true movie buff. The system sound is just plain (if anything can be plain with the Aiwa), AWESOME, however setting up this system is complicated and frustrating if you aren't an electric genius or a teen.
The system comes with a built-in subwoofer, 5 full-sized- total speakers. It is 410 watts of power with five music tones to select. Bass is really bass and is a deep rich and booming bass.
When the system is setup correctly and the speakers are strategically placed about the room you will believe you are in a regular movie theater. Stereophonic with the high/lo tones to rock your world.
The system is beautiful to look at, sterling silver looking cabinet, accented by deep rich black tones to the speaker fronts and dials . So efficient, you almost believe it can talk to you.
When prompted to come on either by a button on the system or remote, it immediately lights up, the equalizer begins recording the level and using the audio1 (one) button will allow you to play your surround sound direct from your television to your stereo. When the equalizer operates it records the tone levels and you can visually see the heights of the notes on the front panel of the stereo screen. Adjustment for levels can be made not only by audio, but also by video. By choosing jazz, ragae, rock, country, etc., your equalizer reflects the rich tones through out your entire room using the surround sound method.
Since our living room is an open-concept floor plan, you will feel and hear tones equal to that of an I-format theater. Its odd and great to have your television sound like your stereo. There are so many little noises in the background part of a movie that you wouldn't hear without the surround sound such as people at a nearby dining table's conversation. On regular TV you would hear only the voice of the focal point actors. Low background music is clear and concise.
The system allows you to choose from 5 cds in the carousel, the Audio
One - being the surround sound-Disc direct play dvd/aux, band for your tuner and deck 1/2 tapes. It has a timer, sleep, mono tuner, clock and cd edit/ck button as well as Prgm and random/repeat. The sound can be surround sound, manual select, dolby surround and /or a T-Bass (really deep base)GEQ, and you can even KARAOKE. The remote allows you to change everything except the TV channel - you still have to do that by television remote.
The remote retains a preset channeling for all your radio/stereo stations as well as the order you might want your CD's to play in. You can play games with the remote, program a prompt-on greeting, and it has an alarm to wake you, if you don't mind getting the hell scared out of you by the rich tones it makes when it comes on.
Our system was around $700. but given you have surround sound and not just a great sounding beautiful stereo, I would say it is GREAT buy for the bucks. Beauty can be functional! I give it a 5 star rating.
