JVC MX-J300 Made the Grade

Last year I purchased the JVC MX-J10 (I previously wrote a review on this model, http://epinions.com/elec-review-54A9-D320F6E-392696FB-prod3) for my daughter to take with her to college and both she and I are very highly impressed with its performance. So when I decided to look for a new Mini System for myself last month, I decided to look at several JVC mini systems and I came across the JVC MX-J300. Needless to say since I was already sold on the quality of my previous JVC purchase, it was not hard to convince me to see if the MX-J300 had the features I wanted. Indeed it did, plus several extras.
The features include:
100 Watts per channel
3 preset equalization settings
Live Surround Sound (Dance/Club/Hall/Stadium)
Auxiliary input
Programmable Timer (Daily, Record, Sleep)
15 AM and 30 FM station memory
Triple-tray CD changer
3-CD Program, Random and Repeat Play
32-track CD programming
CD-R/RW compatible
Dual Cassette with Auto Reverse and continuous playback
2-Way Bass Reflex Speaker system (6 5/16 inch Woofer and
1 5/8 inch Tweeter)
Powered Rolling Panel
Fluorescent display
Full-function remote control
In addition, since space is at a premium, I wanted a unit that was not very large, but I did not want to sacrifice performance. The dimensions of the JVC MX-J300 met my requirements.
Weight: Center Unit- 19 lbs., Speakers 7 1/2 lbs.
Width: Center Unit- 10 7/16 inches, Speakers 8 1/2 inches
Height: Center Unit- 12 7/16 inches, Speakers 12 1/2 inches
Depth: Center Unit- 14 1/4 inches, Speakers 10 3/4 inches
After hooking up the unit and listening to it for awhile I was once again quite happy with my selection. The surround sound along with the graphic equalizers made me feel that I was right in the middle of a live concert.
I just hope my daughter doesn't steal this unit from me when she hears it!
Indeed I am quite happy once again with my purchase of the JVC MX-J300 .
