| dalmiabk's Full Review: JVC MX-J10 Shelf System |
so our old Fisher boombox had finally failed us and we went shopping for a minisystem to replace it. i checked for product reviews on the internet and surprisingly there isn't much reviewed about minisystems, at least at cnet and zdnet. anyway, our budget was $200 so that narrowed our choices quickly. then i narrowed by manufacturers and decided it has to be a SONY, JVC, or AIWA.
next stop: Circuit City. they have a good selection. i quickly narrowed my choices to the SONY MHC-RXD2 ($169.95 regular price) and the JVC MX-J10 ($189.95 on sale, regular $199.95). my wife liked the JVC looks: bluish color, multi-colored display etc. i looked at what additional features i would get for the additional $20. for one, the JVC has twice the power, 60 watts per channel compared to only 30 for the Sony. second, the JVC had AUX in jacks, the Sony didn't. that was sufficient for us to decide on the JVC.
nice sound and lots of little options, sleep, timers, one-touch buttons (Compu Play) etc. i would highly recommend it.
