Pros: 3 CD-changer, attractive design, many functions and sound options, detachable speakers
Cons: limited programmability, tape doesn't record without line-in cord
The Bottom Line: Though perhaps lacking in ease of use, the quality of the sound is excellent. If you want a minisystem with basic function and quality, this is for you.

This is a great mini-system for anyone who might be looking for a system which produces good sound and can perform the basic elementary functions expected of a nice player. It is slightly difficult to operate until the locations of the buttons are gotten used to, as many of them are in somewhat odd locations. This, however, does not remain a problem for long.
Conveniently, when one CD is playing, you can open the CD tray and change the other two CDs without interrupting the play. This allows for ongoing music. However, the program function is limited to around 20 songs, which isn't even enough to cover three cds.
The fact that the system has no built-in microphone was somewhat of a disappointment, as recording from a room to a tape is impossible. However, recording from a CD or the radio will work.
The remote has many functions. Its functions are even more convenient than those on the system itself. There are only 10 presets, unfortunately, but each one can be accessed easily by a numbered button on the remote. This is very nice. The numbered buttons also serve as control buttons for track numbers on CDs.
I have found dealing with the alarm/timer difficult. I am never sure whether it is actually going to work or if I actually succeeded in shutting it off. I basically gave up on that.
The sound options are wonderful! You have control over the treble, bass, and mid-range sounds and their emphasis and the instruction manual guides you as to which options work best with different types of music. The system is very powerful and can get very loud without losing sound quality.
