Excellent sound quality for a mid level system. My MC-1 was given to me by a friend that had won it in a contest. My first thought was, oh great your giving me a free stereo(piece of junk), but I was truly surprised when I opened the boxes containing the MC-1.
My wife not being very assembly gifted, wanted to attempt to set this system up her self. She not only set up the entire system her self including surround sound, but she did in under 1 hour. So the assembly part is a breeze.
This system has many valuable options that may be over looked, so it's worth the extra effort to look over the instruction packet and utilize as many features as you can. My favorite is the ability to store and digitally label all 51 CD's. You can scan though the selections and read the title of the CD on the face of the stereo.
My only gripe about this system is its poor FM reception. I live about 30 miles from the major radio stations in my area and while my car stereo and all my household portable stereo's have great reception, this system seems to lack in this area. I even went to the level of buying a separate antenna system for 20$ and it didn't make any difference.
This system is great for the CD fanatic that likes a great sound at an affordable price. This system also has a trendy appearance and very nice in a living area of the house. Putting this near the TV area of a room will give you an opportunity to utilize the surround sound set up with your TV.
