Pros: more pop for the paper, less trouble than the others.
Cons: A little wide, needs not complain so heavily when working on high speed.

| smileyjay's Full Review: Panasonic PV-9450 VHS VCR |
My sister allowed me to borrow her old vcr when mine had quit after a strong last of seven years. When hers was no longer my only option, I went out to purchase my new vcr.
I had a few good choices that were within by budget. I wanted one that would hold out for a while, give great picture quality, was easy to understand, and up to date. Naturally, I went to my favorite store and had a look around.
There were seven in all that met the "under three hundred" criteria. only four of them were decent enough to meet the other requirements. I had to choose between a Magnavox and the Panasonic I actually bought. There was a three dollar difference in price, and I was baffled as to what I would do. I chose the Panasonic because it was the same brand as my first vcr which had out-lasted all of the others in the house (sans the 17 year-old vcr my parents still have, also a Panasonic).
So, I had already faith that I made a good decision. I went home, plugged it in, and set it up.
I am pleased with the picture quality, it compares to my Dad's DVD player!
I am very happy with the sound quality and the way I don't have to mess with the bass on my tv every time I want the full effect. I found myself giddy over the fact that the vcr knew what time it was when I hooked it up to the television, and that the display isn't bright enough to make scary-movie-watching an irritation.
Over all, and from the girl's point of view, I must say that I am generally elated with this Panasonic product.
However, it could be smaller and it is a little slow to rewind. I don't like the way it sounds when it is ffwd-ing. I think it is going to blow up.
But, no worries. It hasn't eaten any tapes, and the speed isn't a problem. Not in comparison with what I could have bought.
This would be a good family vcr. The reason I think this is because families don't generally have much money to burn. They also need to spend more time together. Why not over a funny movie?
