I was given this vcr as a Christmas present. Seeing the name Panasonic I assumed that it would be an excellent vcr. I still think it is an excellent vcr, but the original one I got was a dud. The first time I used it, it needed to be cleaned with a dry video head cleaner tape. It needed to be cleaned more and more until it just wasn't worth it any more. I exchanged it for a new one. This one also initially asked to be cleaned with a video head cleaner. You would assume a vcr wouldn't need its heads cleaned for a year or two, but this one seems different. Having to clean it when it was brand new makes me suspicious. It seems to be working well now with a nice quality picture and sound coming out with its stereo sound. The remote is very nice too because I was able to get it to work with my Sanyo television as well. It would be nice if all the buttons lit up, but the key ones do and that is what counts. So I do think it is a great product just remember to have a dry video head cleaner tape on hand before you watch movies.
