This is our 2nd Panasonic VCR. Our first one lasted almost ten years. When it finally died, we bought another well known brand that was on sale and recommended to us, and hated it so much we returned it almost immediately.
Panasonics are so easy to use, no complicated combination of buttons to push for any of the functions. It has VCR plus (which set itself up... an unexpected bonus!), and is even simple to program manually.
Lots of neat features, my favorite is Commercial Advance. It zips right through all those pesky recorded commercials without having to touch the fast forward button once!
The remote control is fairly simple. The buttons are a little small, and its easy to accidentally hit the "SAP" or the "add/delete", which is rather annoying, but not too much of a problem once you get used to it.
The quality in SP mode is outstanding, the EP/SLP quality could be a little better. It improves a lot when using better quality tapes though.
