| kzdad's Full Review: Philips VRZ362AT VHS VCR |
This Philips vcr has been out favorite out of all the ones we've had. We've had it about 7 months now and there's been no trouble at all with it.
Some of the things we like about it, one, the color. I like black and although all VCRs are usually black, some of them have looked more of a gray to me.
I also like the automatic replay. Don't ask, but sometimes my husband likes to watch the same movie twice in a roll for detailing purposes or whatnot, then there are times when we will use the same tape for class purposes and I'll set it on the replay. Some of the tapes are 15 minutes long and by replaying, we can watch it twice.
This VCR is also very lightweight, so it's easy to move around when I'm dusting or rearranging the entertainment system.
For beginners, this VCR is very easy to hookup. All the jacks are color coordinated, so it's more like a plug and play item! (computer talk there, huh!)
The VCR also is HIFI Stereo so the sound quality is extremely pleasant!
There are front and back AUX jacks which is a plus for gamers. My husband has had the playstation hooked up in the back while also having the N64 plugged in the front. Two games at once if you have picture in picture!
For those who use a camcorder to take pictures for auctions, this Philips VCR is great because it has Still pictures They are very photo realistic stills!
AUTO REWIND!!! How many kids do you know actually like to rewind the tapes when they are done??? Mine does here and there, but not all the time, so I love this feature! When it's done, it automatically pops out as well!
One last plus for the VCR is you can Program up to 10 programs to be recorded.
Of course, with all the good, there are also some things we don't like about this VCR.
On the Auto Replay I feel there sound be a counter you can set to tell the VCR how many times to replay instead of over and over. For the price you pay for these VCRS, you'd expect this I think.
The Power Light is very dim and you can't tell whether it's off or on. There were times we'd be ready to record a program and think the VCRs was off, but it would be on, so this would cut into the program when we'd try to watch it. The light needs to be brighter.
About the remote control it comes with!!
This Remote control is AWESOME!!! It's very easy to Program your TV and cable boxes. I feel it should also be able to program the stereo as well, but it doesn't.
The remote control has an Eject button! This is great for couch potato dads so they don't accidentally record over another program or for the kids who can't find the eject button on the VCR since it's really small.
The remote control has long battery life. This is a plus for those who don't like to buy batteries all the time!
One thing I don't like about the remote control is only some of the buttons light up. I wish they would all light up or at least glow so you don't have to memorize the thing to be able to use it at night!
This Philips VCR is a great buy for anyone who is looking for great quality and features.
