I bought this VCR two months ago, when my husband and I were debating on a new VCR or a DVD player. We decided a new VCR for a few reasons. Number one, the price of DVD players. We couldn't justify spending $300 now, when in a year or two, they will be at rock bottom prices. Number two, DVDs average about $10 more per movie. Number three, we already had a TON of VHS movies and didn't have the money to replace them all with DVDs.
We wanted a four-head stereo VCR for a reasonable price. This Sharp gave us what we wanted. We got an exceptional value, paying only $94 for this VCR(it was on sale). The Sharp VC-H800U VCR has excellent picture and sound quality. A trilingual on screen display menu makes it easy for just about anyone to understand and use.
Features include 20 second timer backup, Sharp super picture, field still/variable slow/frame advance, Real-time counter, automatic Daylight savings time adjustment, Instant replay, blue screen noise elimination(if hooked up to change TV channels), and MUCH more.
The VCR is easy to hook-up and use. The only complaint I have is it has no clock display on the VCR itself, but used with the TV, it displays the time. I believe we got an excellent value, and would recommend Sharp products. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.
