The Sony SLV-679 VCR is a top quality VCR! From the day I purchased it, this VCR has never let me down and has lived up to everything I expected from it. I especially love the high-speed rewind which rewinds a whole tape under two minutes. I remember my last VCR took about 5 minutes.
Some special features of the VCR include the 19 Micron Four Video Heads which reduces distortion and produces a super high quality picture. Combined with a high resolution TV, this VCR will out an almost flawless picture from any tape. It also has an adaptive picture control and sharpness control. Additionally, audio features include stereo TV tuning and Hi-Fi Record/play.
VCR Plus+ makes for easy recording of your favorite TV programs with the convenient numbers printed in the weekly edition of TVGuide. One of my favorite features is the Smart Search which allows you to fast forward through ads and then rewinds a few seconds just in case you miss hitting the play button when the show starts again!
Other benefits include digital auto tracking, EP/SP recording, EP/SP/LP playback, auto head cleaner, child-lock, an excellent universal remote, and a great looking VCR display. If you are looking for a great VCR for a relatively inexpensive price, go with this excellent Sony model!
