| raasnio's Full Review: Aiwa AM-F70 Personal MiniDisc Player |
After being exposed to minidiscs, it wasn't long before I had decided that I had to own a MD player. In all honesty, the AIWA unit caught my eye immediately with it's silver body and handy controls. Having stood out from the competition so profoundly, I purchased it the same day.
The question, for you the consumer, is why purchase the AIWA? I do have experience with other MD units in this price range. Of course, everyone I know says the same thing when they see this unit. Wow. It looks great. Aside from it's looks, it has a nice compact size and all controls are placed in the right spots. You'll quickly become accustomed to it's layout. Not to mention it has a fully lit remote. With the included battery pack and battery, the unit can play for 40 hours!
The playback is fabulous. No skipping and since the unit opens just enough to admit a disc, it won't be a problem keeping it clean. With the included cable you can make perfect digital copies of any CD when used with a digital out from your stereo, or in my case, a DVD player. Digital transfers are done optically and ensure that each song gets tracked. Line in can be handled as well, but you'll have to track the songs later. Which brings me to my major point on why this is the unit you need.
The AIWA unit has a jog shuttle which makes inputting characters such as track and album names a breeze. It's truly the easiest unit to work with. But don't just take my word for it. Start browsing in electronic stores for this player and try it yourself. I am sure you'll enjoy every aspect of it. It comes with swoops headphones, a digital optical cable, a fully lit remote, a case, a battery pack and a registration card.
