| jspali15's Full Review: Aiwa AM-F70 Personal MiniDisc Player |
I bought my Aiwa MD recorder at the beginning of last summer (1999). There are several reasons why I bought my MD player. First of all, I was sick of carrying around a discman that wouldn't fit in my pocket. I would have to either hold it or stick it in my backpack...which means that every time I wanted to change the cd, I would have to take my backpack off and take out my discman and it just got old, especially since I was always standing on a crowded train in a suburb of Tokyo in the mornings. With my MD player, if I want to switch what I'm listening to, I just take my MD player out of my pocket, take an MD out of my pocket, and switch...it takes 20 seconds at most.
Now that I have my MD player, I think I would have died if I hadn't had it. It is one of the best investments I've ever made in my life. If you don't want to go out and buy the latest CD from your favorite band, because a friend has it...you can just go over to your friend and dub it. Its like a recording walkman, only the MD recorder does it digitally, and can automatically separate tracks for you.
The jogging dial is also wonderful, especially if you like to name your tracks on your MDs. It so much easier to use that dial to find the characters you want than to keep pressing buttons, like on the Sony's and other brands. Anyone who's considering buying an MD recorder should strongly consider the Aiwa's. They're reliable, relatively inexpensive when compared to Sony, and it has served me well for over a year.
