This is a great over all mini disc player. the remote is intuative and easy to use. the li-ion battery lasts for about 10 hours when playing and recording for about 3-4 hours with the li-ion battery. you can use the cumbersome battery pack, which holds three triple a batteris for up to 40 hour of play with the li-ion and 10-16 hours of recording with the li-ion battery. i use it mainly to record off my computer using a 3.5 to 3.5 jack. the analog connection when recording makes that barely noticable hiss, but this can be remedied by increasing the wave volume and lowering the main volume on your computer. recording from the radio and any other source can be done but simply getting a connection with a 3.5 jack or a mini optical jack imput. i was even able to record tracks from gran turismo on the sony playstation using rca jacks!
the remote is user friendly but if you use it alot, the paint will rub off and the plastic screen on the lcd is susceptible to scratches.
the only gripe i have is the backlight is hard to see at certain angles and the soft casing of the unit. i find it difficult to see the display of the unit went i look at it in the night. also, when i accidently dropped it, the soft case tends to dent rather easily.
