Pros: Its cost a fraction of any other MD and it's just as amazing.
Cons: Little differences that don't make a difference.
The Bottom Line: Stop searching for a MD player. This is the one for you.

| x182's Full Review: Panasonic SJ-MJ70 Personal MiniDisc Player |
Now, I have the Panasonic MRJ37 not the J70 you see in the picture. This is the best place for this opinion because there isn't a section for my MD player.
Well anyways the MRJ37 came out before the J70 you see in the picture, and yes it is bigger. But just by a little bit, if you hold both of them in your hand you wouldn't notice. And yes the player is heavier by just a little bit that it doesn't even make a difference, and for these small little changes for the J70 your paying 150 dollars more.
I was on Ebay and I noticed a Panasonic MD player from Japan, so I just bought it right there. When it got to my door the whole thing only costs $82 dollars.
When I got it open out of the box, the player was amazing. And it comes in a little box that includes the player itself, an EL backlit remote, an external battery; which uses 1 AA, a rechargeable chewing gum battery, an external battery recharger, Ear buds, MD bag, a separate remote clip, and some manuals in English and Japanese.
The unit is very easy to use, and will last very long. I've dropped it from a 4-foot height a few times, and trust me, it looks brand new.
So lets talk about features. The unit can play about 32 hours with both the external and chewing gum battery together.
There's only one level of bass, which is not good.
And the best part of this MD is that it uses a special clamshell/slot-in. This means that the unit has a thing where you slide the "open" switch and out of nowhere the whole top pops up and you slide in the disc.
The headphones are the ear-bud type, which is about 14.99 at stores, and they are no so great. The ear buds are to small and fall out of your ear most of the time, but its fine if you’re just walking around. The special thing about these are that one side of the ear bud is longer then the other so it can go around your neck and not get in your way.
The remote can display 6 characters and has the basic features such as; track select, bass, volume control, hold, battery life, and that’s about it. The body doesn’t have buttons for the bass, or repeat, it can just control the track and volume, but most players are like that.
Overall I think if you buy this MD online you'll get a great deal.
Under 100 dollars for a brand new one.
