| Lee46's Full Review: Sharp MD-MS702 Personal MiniDisc Player |
I don’t own, but frequently use a Sharp 701 portable minidisc recorder, and I have to say that although it’s old now, has only 10 seconds antishock, and uses ATRAC 5, I think it is still one of the best minidisc recorders there are, and if you see one cheap, take the opportunity to buy it!
It seems to do everything right: It sounds brilliant, Has a backlit LCD remote, Is built like a tank, has the convenient slot in mechanism, long battery life, Easy to use, never skips with normal use, and a decent sized screen. The bass boost may not be very strong, but go into service mode and you can change it so it will sound the same as the best ones available. As for the UTOC errors, Just regularly clean the lens and head, and don’t drop it too hard and it probably wont happen. For the same price as a rubbish Goodmans player, you can get this wonderful machine. I highly recommend it.
