Why spend this much when you can get a better one for a little more

If you know anything about MD players, you will know that what you need at the start is a sleek easy to sue recorder and or player. The Sharp 702 is a good start for people who do not understand fully on how to use MD recorders.
The design is kind of large for an MD player, however, it is still a small size compared to a CD player. The bad part about this model, is that it is old. The battery life is short compared to its brothers, and it is heavier than most players. I suggest that if you have a little more money in your pocket, you should buy the newer Sharp MD recorder and player.
For a little more money, you get better model which has a longer battery life and is lighter. I do however still like the 702, and suggest that for people just starting the MD craze to try it out.
