Sony MZ-E44... Great MD For a Great Price

I had been "borrowing" my wife's portable Panasonic MD player for quite a while now to her annoyance. So I knew at some point I would have to get one of my own. As I have been perusing a J and R catalog (www.jandr.com)(They are located in NYC as am I and can conveniently visit their stores) and noticed that portable MD players and player/recorder prices were drastically reduced, the MZ-E44 was $99.99 (no doubt because it has become popular here in the US). Since I have a component-sized Sony MD Recorder/Player at home I didn't see the need for my portable be able to record. I purchased a blue MZ-E44 for because it was a color I had not seen and was unique. The design is sleek and the blue color gives it a special attractiveness the silver one does not have. It is thin and small (why would anyone want to carry a cd player when md fits into your pocket?) and virtually skip resistant. Although I have to admit that my MD did skip twice (I purchased it only 2 days ago) but have not experienced skipping on my wife's portable Panasonic. The only thing I found clunky was the AA battery case that you can add on to the MD of your rechargeable battery (NiMh (Nickel Hydride as opposed to NiCD or Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Hydride is much better) runs out. If you use the only the rechargeable battery the player really fits into your shirt pocket. If you already own a MD recorder/player (component sized) at home you should definitely get this player because it is great on your wallet and it's music quality is excellent and it also has 2 levels of "Mega Bass" for accentuating those low frequencies. The only thing is that I wish they made a beltclip for it, it just came with a pouch and a strap for the MD you can loop around your wrist.
