| cykosis's Full Review: Sony Walkman MZ-R55 Personal MiniDisc Player |
Going MiniDisc was something that I wanted to try. I liked that it is much smaller than a CD and Discman and that the MiniDiscs themselves are small and durable because of their own casing. Then came the issue of quality. I recorded my first MiniDisc and then listened to it, and the quality is very near if not the same as a CD. I loved this particular MD player because it was so much smaller than the rest of the models out there. And the best thing about MD's in my opinion is that they are like CD-RW's. You can record on the same disc over and over again. I found a real problem in the short battery life and found myself having to use the external AA battery pack that it came with often. The price tag was a little steep, but it justifies itself by not having to buy so many discs and the quality of the unit itself.
