Pros: Easy to use, battery lasts a long time, no moving parts.

Cons: Software is difficult.

I purchased the Diamond Rio 500 for use in the gym. For what I use it for, it is great. Tapes and CD's tend to skip. You can buy larger storage and store all of your favorate songs on one card. The diamond is small and GREAT for working out, running. A great portable system. I didn't much like the software, I feel like I have to always find a way around thier way of setting music up. I will say this, once the songs are on the Diamond Rio 500, it is Awesome! The music doesn't play as loud as I would like it to, that's why I upgraded to the 600.
