Please, if you are hedging about using Comcast for anything please read this before you make a decision. I hope NO ONE has to go through this. It's not worth it.
I recently called Comcast to setup an installation for High Speed Internet service. I asked the rep to make sure I was called so I would know to let the installer into my building. The appointment was supposed to be between 9AM-1PM on a Saturday, my day off. Well at 2:10PM I called to find out why the installer hadn't shown up. They told me he made an attempt at 10AM. Funny, I never received a phone call. The rep informed me that she put another rush request through and that I would receive a call from the dispatch office within 30min. Well an hour and 10 minutes later I call back. This time another rep informed me that I was misinformed by the first rep. It would take 1-2 hours to be notified by the dispatch office. Anyway it's now 6PM, yep 11HRS later and still no installer & no phone call. I call again, get another rep. This guy tells me the installer would be back by 7PM. At 6:45PM there's a knock on my door, it's the installer. He said it was almost impossible to get into my building. Well if he had called me I would have just gone downstairs to let him in. Needless to say I was extremely upset.
So Sunday afternoon I call the main support number to complain about the lies, deception, & poor communication with their company and to request something for my lost time. The initial rep wouldn't budge, only apologized. I then spoke to a supervisor who answered the phone with "I am sorry for the misunderstanding, but we do NOT give credit". After about 10min. of dealing with this person she offered me $1.53, that's right ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY THREE CENTS for the lost day of service. I was beyond upset so I hung up.
Monday, I called again hoping to get a REAL manager, not one of the McDonald's rejects that they have working the weekend shifts. First rep. said the same as the rest. I spoke to her supervisor who at least came up with waiving the installation charge of $19.95. To me that was not even close to compensating me for what I've been through. So on to the next level. This time a "manager" gets on the phone. After another 15min of back and forth she wouldn't do anything else. Even after I threatened to go with a competitor she wouldn't budge. So I told her to cancel my service. She was shocked! AND then asked me to call back to speak with a first level rep to cancel the service. I went off on her at that point. If a manager can't cancel the service, how could a level one rep. do it? Since no one would take responsibility for lying, deceiving, and their pathetic customer service I didn't want to give them another second of my time.
