Pros: Excellent customer service, quick troubleshooting response, great cable.
Cons: DVR doesn't handle live TV well; Clark Howard doesn't like them.
The Bottom Line: Comcast is an excellent customer service oriented company and I would recommend them to anyone seeking a new cable company.

Presently I live in an area that doesn't offer Comcast, which is sad to be sure. I was very happy with Comcast and was a subscriber for six years in Atlanta. I seldom had connection problems, I believe only twice during our service arrangement. When I called customer service, they responded quickly and accurately.
The cable was excellent and was seldom out. We used their DVR and that was okay, but nothing to write home about. It would hang when rewinding live TV, but recordings went without any hitches.
In order for you to fully understand why I found Comcast such a great service I must also share a bit of sad personal information. My ex-husband controlled the money and didn't pay the bills on time. Because of this, our services were often shut off. Originally we had DSL through Bellsouth, which was a horrible service in Atlanta. Understandably, they would shut off our DSL for lack of payment. The problem was getting it back on. If we paid the bill in full, they would make us wait 3 weeks before we could get it turned back on. Out of sheer frustration, I contacted Comcast and asked them how soon they could get us online and they said the next day. I canceled Bellsouth's service and went with Comcast.
That said, Comcast would also shut us off for lack of payment again, understandably. What made their service superior was that once the bill was paid, it was back on within the hour. That made all the difference to me.
There is one thing worth mentioning though. Clark Howard (clarkhoward.com) is a consumer advocate and doesn't like Comcast. I usually go with whatever advice Clark has to offer, but in this case I have to disagree. I was never shut off of services as he says they tend to do. I had high-end usage as well, but never had any problems of that nature. However if you're considering this service, a simple site search with comcast as a keyword will reveal his notes about them. You might be interested in his advice, so you can be fully informed.
The bottom line for me though is that Comcast is a great service and I would definitely use them again if I were able.
