Basic Channel Selection:
Pros:None. (the technician, perhaps. Knowledgeable and courteous and the only one showing any remorse.)
Cons:Horrible customer service. A sledgehammer solution to a problem that required tweezers.
The Bottom Line: Get service from anyone else if you can.
I have never been thrilled with anything about Comcast, but my most recent experience makes me that much more convinced that the Occupy Wall Street people may be right - the corporations care about nothing but their bottom line. (I am forced to use Comcasat because I live in a large apt. complex that has a contract with them.)

I checked my email one afternoon after work ( @5:30) and went out to the gym for a couple of hours. When I came home, neither the cable nor the internet worked. Strange , I thought, that BOTH would go out at the same time. I spent 2 hours on the phone with a poor Indian guy who finally decided that I had a "technical problem" that would require a home visit. This wouldn't be possible for a few days AND it could only be during the day, I was told. I insisted and he was able to send someone the next day. I had to take the day off work without pay and with recriminations. (Not a good economy to be doing this in.......). Within two minutes of his arrival (during the 4 hour window !), the (excellent) technician informed me that a Comcast employee had unplugged my cable and internet from the utility closet the night before, along with about 5 others. Why? Bec. they needed to label it so no one got free service after I moved out.
I was inconvenienced, my night and next day ruined, a loss of a day's wages and I have to PAY for this service???? All so Comcast doesn't lose a couple of bucks. With a little preparation this could have been avoided. At least they could have notified the tenants that this may be a possibliity and if it happened, to call and they would be able to rectify the situation and oh, thank you so much for the trouble , etc.
I tried to contact them to relate this, but no one speaks English anymore. They kept sending me instructions on how to fix my outage. They need instructions on how to be an ethical company. Oh, wait. They don't really care about that.
