Our family has used Cox communications for about 8 years now and we have had just about enough of it. The only reason we have not gotten rid of them sooner is because there is no other cable provider that services this area. We can get Dish or Direct TV. Which I have heard even worse things about than Cox.

I am going to tell you the main problem that we have had with Cox. The overall service you get for the price kind of thing does not match up. Our family has a bundle with television and internet that we recieve from Cox. Over the past 2 years we have had a problem with our internet going out for multiple hours about 3 times a week. That is just absurd when you take into consideration how much we are paying for it.
Now to the cable aspect of it. The overall features that Cox provides is amazing, they have the most up to date technology, software, and channels. They offer HD, they have DVR's, and on Demand services. A problem we use to encounter on a daily basis was a lot of digital tiling that occured when watching TV on any channel. So we called about this and it turns out they had overloaded the output box that they had out near our road. They had the cable service going from their one hub near the road to approx. 15 houses when it was only garunteed to work for 5 at a time. Once they fixed that we have not occured the same problem since.
A big problem is the price that you have to pay for this service. We have the basic hundred channels or so plus Encore channels and our one premium we have is HBO. With just that package our bill is around $150/month with the internet. When we compared that price to what we could have with other cable/sattelite providers we found out that we could have every channel for the same price with a different company. The only problem is there are no other companies in this area to switch to, unless you want Dish or Direct TV that go out every time the wind blows.
Amount Paid (US$): 150/month
