I am so furious with Cox Communications right now. I currently have telephone service, digital television service and digital internet service with this company. It rained here, most of the day, and now my phone is out and my cable is out. I can't even pick up a phone and dial 911 if my kid were to say, fall and smash his head on something. I, personally, am surprised my internet service is still running.
I have dealt with Cox Communications for about 4 years now. I started as simply a basic cable television subscriber. I think I got the basic local stations plus a few others like Disney, Nick, CNN etc. There was very little hold time when you called, they came promptly to install service and overall I had very few problems.
At that point in time there were other cable services here that gave them a little competition. They had a run for their money, so to speak. Well, now, they are huge and the only cable television company you can go with (can we say monopoly???) and their customer service is horrible.
This is not the first time my phone/cable TV has been cut off for no reason. No, it happened about a month ago. I had gone into one of the counters to pay a bill and they mysteriously forgot to credit it to my account. So one day I get home from being out at the park with my son, and I had no phone line. I went over there with the receipt and to give them a lil credit, I must say, the phone was back on before I even got home.
Now it's 6:15pm, my time and I have no way of going over to their service center, I have no way of going to the office at my condo complex and using the phone there and I have no way of finding out just why my phone was shut off THIS TIME.
Cox digital cable is WONDERFUL, when it works. The picture is clear and you never have to say "there is nothing on tv". I get all sorts of channels from my local programming to discovery health to every single movie channel available. However, I pay like 150 bucks a month for service that works MAYBE half the time, if i'm lucky. (150 bucks for phone, cable and internet)
Right now, my best friend has been sitting on hold for 30 minutes waiting to find out why my phone is out. Thank goodness for ICQ.
