Most of us former MediaOne customers now I suppose are paying our bill to AT&T Broadband.
I originally signed up with MediaOne out of Jacksonville, FL since they are the only cable provider in my area anyway. I cannot get satellite since I am limited by surrounding trees.
The original deal was to sign on in November '99 and get free installation with a $10.00 gas card from one of the gas companies. I have tried to forget this experience so please bare with me. After several months of asking for the gas card I had pretty much given up on receiving it.
The thing that finally got some results and I would strongly suggest to anyone that has to deal with this company is to complain to the Better Business Bureau in your area. I posted my case and comments on their website and promptly receive a letter from them regarding my case.
It must have been a couple weeks that went by and I got a call one evening from the Vice President of MediaOne asking me about my problem. We discussed the situation and I explained what had happened. I also told him that I did not think that $32.12 a month for barely 35 channels was reasonable for the poor quality of service as well as their customer service blowing me off about the gas card request.
Anyhow, he offered me the next month's service for free, so I guess he appeased me for then. But, I still am unsatisfied with the quality of service for the amount I am paying every month.
I do like to watch sports and a few other shows, but it seems I am spending more time looking at this screen like you are right now.
I hope that more deregulation happens and soon I will be able to select my cable provider as easily as my long distance provider or internet service provider too.
