Some time ago, our local cable provider offered their new digital service. My husband and I were torn between trying it or not. In the beginning they wanted a $50 deposit for all new digital customers. So we put it off, till last week.
They no longer required the $50 deposit, so we decided to go for it. Originally we were only going to get the digital service on our main living room tv, but on the way to the cable company office, my husband decided to get one for the family room tv also. The company had no problem changing our account for 2 new digital converters, and we were able to pick up the new converters that afternoon.
After coming home and hooking them both up, we called into their office, and they zapped our boxes from their office, and we were all set to go.
Well, we were really surprised by all the new extra channels we had. We absolutely love the new music channels. It is nice to be able to pick what we want to listen to, and have no commercials with it. They have 29 music channels in all, we love the 70's and 80's hits channels as well as the golden oldies ones.
They also added more Discovery channels, my boys love the Discovery Kids channel alot, and my husband and I enjoy the Discovery Science channel.
My absolute favorite new channel is........ TVLand.
I love watching all the shows that I originally grew up watching. This past weekend was a full weekend of EMERGENCY! It was on our TV all weekend long. Even my boys were becoming totally interested in this show. Nice to be able to get back to some basic clean tv shows versus some of what is on out there on other channels.
Now if only they would get ToonDisney, and they would have a totally satisfied family here with their new digital service.
