I hear you when you say there is an overload of sports channels. I don't hate sports, but I just don't have any real interest in sports. Infact I have only a little interest in football because I live in Lincoln, NE.
Anywho you pumped out another great review. For what it is worth, at least Cable (at least where I live) has the Sci-Fi channel. Also, unlike Satellite, you get your local channels.
Before anyone contradicts me, yes I realize that satellite is supposed to start carrying local channels. I have not seen that happen yet...

You have just explained why I have chosen (gasp) to go cableless for the past 11 years. I don't miss the lack of selection--I haven't found that cable has much more to offer. I fugure over the past 11 years I must have save quite a bit of money. Too bad I can't find it now!

I have At&T cable they used to be Time Warner though. My current cable bill runs $72.72 a month in which this includes 9 Movie channels. I often wonder myself why I keep the cable service. All they ever play is re-runs and very old movies. But I will say my children do enjoy some of the channels and watch them often.

Time Warner Digital has 10 different HBO's yet we still end up going to Blockbuster!
There is one good channel, Kids Discovery, that my family watches often.

I have to agree with you. I was a TimeWarner customer til I moved out to the woods. Now I am at the mercy of Charter Communications. UGH! I get 36 channels for 49.95 a month and that's with 2 pay, HBO & Showtime. I think it's a shame the cable companies build up monopolies and you are left, like you said, either unsubscribing or dealing with it!Unfortunately I can't get ANY channels except 6 and that's fuzzy.

Gosh when we had our satellite my husband just had to have a zillion sports channel we had espn 1-20, ok maybe not that many and we had sports in all different regions no way he could watch them all, not that he didn't try, so glad we finally gave up that satellite I'm happy just having the networks and watching sports on it and they seem to show a lot, i do like sports like u but i don't love them that much. Great review :-)
