| coolreviewdude's Full Review: eMachines T1220 PC Desktop |
The eMachines T1220 that I got came with a 20 gig HDD, XP Home Edition, 128 MB of RAM, an Intel Celeron 1.2 Ghz processor, and a CD-ROM drive. I must say that I have had this computer for 2 years now and I know every single detail about this computer. This computer had a good price tag on it. Well, when I bought it, it was slow and I fixed this problem by adding another stick of 128 MB RAM and it was a lot faster. Overall, I had never had a problem with this computer and think that this computer has a real good value on it.
This computer gets the job done, period. It may lack in other areas compared to other computers but the important part is that it does the job. It also has endurance. I have left my computer on for the whole part of the day for the last two years and it is still going to strong. It is great for internet surfing and word processing. Another thing about this computer is that it doesnt have a 10/100 networking adapter and this you must buy one for a PCI slot but it should be no problem.
The only things I would complain about is the noise and the gaming. This computer was never built for intense gaming. Maybe more simple games, video editing, etc. But this is obviously not for more of a gaming enthusiast. The noise is sort of unbearable at times. If you have it in the same room and if you want to leave it on, make sure you turn it off before you sleep because it can get pretty loud. Also, if it is in a room that is not very spacious, and if there is no air conditioning or some ventilation of some kind, the room can get pretty hot quickly with the computer running (also the monitor and the person). If you leave it on long enough, the case fan can blow warm air out the back.
Overall, if you are budget-conscious, then I recommend this computer. Personally though, I would invest in another computer.
