Evan Moor™ Take it To Your Seat™ Language Arts Literacy Centers for grades 1 – 3 offers reinforcement and enhancement practice in growing vocabulary; materials can be used for solo or Little Partner work sessions. Literacy, the aptitude allowing Little Learners to read for information, to write comprehensibly and to reflect decisively regarding the written word is an imperative element of the Language Arts program.
Learning centers, work stations where Little Learners work alone or with a partner are a major part of the Early Childhood Education classroom. I have a preference for teacher management somewhere between pandemonium and authoritarian; Osage County First Grade has occasion for work station activities however does work station work is not conducted in chaos.
Work centers can be an encouraging way for Little Learners to put into practice significant skills. The tasking activities found presented in Take It to Your Seat Literacy Centers strengthen literacy proficiency by means of full-color materials that include directions, task cards, and record forms.
Take It To Your Seat: Language Arts Literacy Centers designed for Grades 1 - 3 provides instruction for using guidelines leading to Little Learners using work station activities for expanding scholarly curriculum education. I find using work station materials to promote learning activities concerning Little Partners working together peacefully aligns well to my particular teaching style which is composed, calm and serves to safeguards the good sense of Little Learners as well as my own.
This book is a dandy spring of work station, center, materials. I especially like the file folder type materials. Adding interesting, new work to work stations helps keep Little Learners engaged and moving toward the goal of learning for love of learning. Colorful, engaging work stations promote a sense of an anticipation and eagerness that is hard to beat.
Pocket folder centers are easy to store, important for teachers, myself included, having limited space in the classroom. Easy for Little Learners to use, folders are taken to table or desk for use. I find Learning Work Centers, to be useful, encouraging process for Osage County First Grade Little Learners to use to put into practice important skills taught during the instruction portion of the lesson.
I like that the Take It to Your Seat Literacy Centers has everything needed included in the step-by-step teacher directions for making and using each center. This book has colorful, eye catching materials needed to create the centers. Centers are three types including HANGAR, with materials for writing letters and a story, reading poems, practicing penmanship, categorizing items including child pleasing dogs; SHOE BOX which has materials leading to writing descriptive paragraphs, writing to support topic sentences, work with riddles and rhyming, synonyms and compound words; and FOLDER centers having work materials regarding antonyms, making words, working on alphabetical order, working with singular or plural, study of super sentences and real or make believe.
Directions are easy to follow, presented bit by bit and produce a child pleasing center for use. Individualizing skill practice is easy, assign the specific center to meet a specific need.
Activities included in the Take It to Your Seat Literacy Work Centers materials are used to shore up Little Learner learning, enlarge understanding and fluency via use of multi colored centers having activity sheets, games and task cards. I find Evan Moor resources to be helpful, packed with workable plans for assembling centers/work station items, as well as arranging job cards or other paper sheets for insertion in the kit.
I am pleased the Take It To Your Seat: Literacy Centers Grades 1 - 3 content is based on State Language Arts Teaching Standards which serves to make using Evan Moor materials even more beneficial. State Standards are the essential components of the curriculum which need to be mastered well by Little Learners in order to sustain success throughout the educational process.
Take It To Your Seat: Math Centers Grades K 1 Evan Moor is one of a series of hands on type activities for use in classrooms.
Osage County First Grade uses a number of work center materials for augmenting the instructional portion of the lesson. Follow up to instruction is important for helping assure that what was taught is inculcated into Little Learner thinking.
Activity sheets are self checking; lift the flap type answer keys permit Little Learners to check progress as they work. Osage County First Grade Little Learners become involved in encouraging, appealing activities as they use word games and task cards having theme related materials presented as easy to store centers. I like that Work Center materials can be prepared, laminated for permanence and longevity of use and stored until needed for lesson strengthening work periods.
