Pros: Only True to Style Belgian Producer in the USA
Cons: Hard to find
I absolutely love this brewery. They do not distribute to my side of the country but when i travel west of St. Louis i make it a point to pick up a few bottles of these great beers. New Belgium Brewing is in Colorado and takes on the huge task of brewing true to style authentic Belgian style ales. These styles are very hard and expensive to brew. Many breweries try to make Belgians but always come up short on authenticity. You cannot tell NBB's beers from the ones made by monks in th hills of
Belgium. The tripple ale is a high alchohol beer that is golden in color and extremely sweet and warming. The pilsner is crisp and spicy. The Saison is a spicy wheat based beer. The dubbel is a darker, sweet beer with a lot of carbonation. The wheat is filled with clove and bannana flavors. Finally, the most popular beer is the Fat Tire Amber ale which is a wonderful creamy amber al in the Belgian style. They also do seasonal beers such as frambozen (rasberry ale) and others which i have never sampled. Highly reccomended.
