final fantasy is like a very good looking girl, but a dumb one...

Rated a Very Helpful Review

Pros:very nice to look at

Cons:its like a modern version of the "thunderbirds"

The Bottom Line: a very well animated film but a story thats a dumb mix of Japanese manga and american tv-culture

The idea of final fantasy is original.Making a movie without real actors.Ofcourse in a project like this there are many many problems. And the final result has a lot of problems...

The story is about Dr. Aki Ross en her search for the spirits. She gets help from a military squad.

First of all the actors look like they are stoned. They move like the old "thunderbirds" used to do.Every time lead player dr. Aki Ross moves her hand its like in slowmotion.
When they talk they are so boaring and don't let me mention their eyes. Its like looking at your dead grandpa's eyes.
There are also so nice things to say about the animation of the characters.Their hair, faces, clothes, etc. are nicely done.

The explosions and monsters in the film look nice.Aldough they don't look frightening. The monsters sometimes don't even seem to scare you.The spaceships and the big buildings(Future New York)are nicely done but not original.
One of the bigest mistakes is that its all very Japanese. And theres nothing wrong with that because i love manga, but its just very Japanese with a stupid American coat...:)

Well so what about the story?
Its really basic, stupid and unoriginal. But the most irritating thing,is that it thinks it smart. The script is a mess.Much too much bla bla, fantasy(the final fantasy)but theres not a single smart thing in it.

So whats my conclusion about the film.
You should see it because of its animations, but nothing more.In the beginning youll experience the beauty but at the end you'll notice the bore...
