Pros: free shipping, points towards free merchandise, free mug w/sign-up!
Cons: points don't add up as fast as they used to!
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this card to any fan of LL Bean...free shipping is great and you'll always get their catalogs, and occasionally even a $10 gift certificate.

| kadams's Full Review: L.L.Bean Visa (MBNA America) |
L.L. Bean has always been one of my favorite stores...every August my family would trek to Kittery, Maine and all of us kiddies would be outfitted in the trendiest flannel around. A few years ago when I was in the store I saw some great free plastic LL Bean travel mugs...all I had to do to get mine was sign up for an LL Bean Visa card. Sold!
The best feature of the card is free FedEx shipping on all L.L. Bean purchases. This comes in very handy around the holidays, when I have their great balsam centerpieces sent to family & friends. I also order one item here and there off the web site without feeling as if I should wait until I need 3 or 4 items to save on shipping. And items arrive quickly -- usually 2 days after I order them!
Another great feature is that you're automatically subscribed to most of LL's catalogs...men's, women's, home, outdoors, etc.
When I first started using the card (in 1996, I believe), the "reward" for every $100 charged on the card was $1 (More for LL Bean purchases). Since I charge almost everything, this added up fast and I received $20 certificates several times a year. Unfortunately, a couple years ago, the reward was cut in half and now you get $1 for every $200 charged, in $10 increments. However, it's better than most credit cards, which have no rewards. But since I have another reward credit card with a better return, I now only use my LL Bean Visa on LL Bean items. The rewards are few and far between!
I'm not sure about interest on this card, since I always pay my balance in full, but there is no annual fee which is great, and of course Visa is accepted almost anywhere.
