Bank of America is good, but America West miles aren't

Pros: Good customer service
Cons: America West has terrible partnerships, and unclear reward rules with it's partners. No true B of A quicken support.

Bank of America provides good customer service with this card. The B of A reps don't know anything about America West, however.
America West is not a good choice to rack up frequent flyer miles on. They do not have extensive partnerships with other airlines, and sometimes the rules for these partnerships are so cryptic it's hard to tell what you're going to get.
For example, I recently travelled to Paris on Northwest. I called first and confirmed with America West Customer Service that I would receive full credit for the flight. Yes, no problem. Turns out the second leg of the flight was a KLM flight that was codeshared with NW. When I submitted my receipts (forget doing anything electronically, no check in agent has EVER been able to process my America West frequent flyer mile card!) afterwards, I got a letter 2 months later explaining I could only get miles from here to Detroit (where I switched to the KLM codeshare). I screamed and complained but to no avail.
I had a similar problem flying to Ottawa, Canada, recently. I screamed loud enough that they eventually credited me the miles, though.
I have been pleased with Bank of America. In fact, when I got married, I called and got a temporary (substantial) credit increase so I could pay for a lot of the wedding on the card.
The only complaint I have with B of A is that they do not have true Quicken online support. It's been "on it's way" for over a year now. You have to download the .QIF file, and import it. If there's any duplicate items from the last time you loaded in the .QIF file, you then have to manually erase the item.
